Project Overview
Bhagwan, in joint venture agreement with Linch-Pin Enterprises Pty Ltd, was engaged to operate a Heavy Lift Vessel (HLV) to either remove and transport platforms to Chevron’s nominated shore base, or reef the platform structures in-situ, in accordance with the requirements of the Approved Decommissioning and Rehabilitation Plan (D&R Plan) and any associated permit(s).
Structures removed included:
- 3 tripod platforms
- 6 monopod platforms
- Associated pipeline and subsea structures
Operation Methodology
- Assets removed via oxyacetylene and diamond wire saw while loads were slung from the barge mounted crane
- Loads placed on the deck of a transport cargo barge
- Transport to final location on seabed or return to land for deconstruction and recycling
- Following topside removal, pile and foundation removed similarly for reefing or recycling
- Internal pile plugs cut using grit entrained water for removal and transport for disposalGrillages pre-fabricated and seafastened to deck of cargo barge to allow seafastening of decommissioned structures once landed
